Mrs. Kayla Rodgers - Chamber Choir, Concert Choirs, Advanced Orchestra, IB Music Kayla Rodgers returns San Diego High School Music staff as the Choral and Orchestra Director. Mrs. Rodgers earned her Bachelor of Music Education degree from the University of Northern Colorado (Greeley, Colorado) where she had the opportunity to study under the mentorship of Dr. Richard Mayne and Dr. Kenneth Singleton. While at UNCO, Mrs. Rodgers also had the opportunity to study percussion under the guidance of Gray Barrier. She studied clarinet under the guidance of Paul Dods. Mrs. Rodgers’ duties at San Diego include chamber choir, 3 concert choirs, advanced orchestra, and IB music Mrs. Rodgers' professional affiliations include the California Music Educators Association, Barbershop Harmony Society Music Educator Partner, American Choral Directors Associations, Sweet Adelines International, the Colorado Music Educators Association, the Percussive Arts Society, and the American Orff Schulwerk Association. She currently resides in Spring Valley, California with her husband, daughter, two cats and can be seen performing with the San Diego Chorus of Sweet Adelines under the direction of Kathleen Hansen and the Pomerado Community Band under the direction of Dean Hickman. |
